Obituary for F. Eugene "Friday" McKown
F. Eugene “Friday” McKown, age 77, of Crooked Tree, Ohio, died Friday, June 1, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 11, 1940, in Lowell, son of the late Oval and Hazel Jane Parsons McKown. He was a 1958 graduate of Fort Frye High School and he drove truck all of his life. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, farming, hunting, and he was an excellent mechanic. Friday loved to spend time on his back porch with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who was devoted to his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Darla Farley and Janice McKown; one sister, Margaret Stack; and three brothers, Robert, Roger, and Dean McKown.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lois Snodgrass McKown, whom he married January 22, 1962; his children, Beverly (Joe) McKown McNabb of Lowell, Tammy L. Hadding of Crooked Tree, Frank E. (Alisha) Schob of Sarahsville, Amber E. (Tim) McKown Smith of Caldwell, Troy E. McKown of Crooked Tree, and Todd D. (Sandi) McKown of Crooked Tree; two brothers, Charles (Bonnie) McKown of Macksburg and Cecil (Debbie) McKown of Kimbolton; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; his fishing buddy, Danny Snodgrass; and his beloved miniature chiweenie, Scooter.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 3-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 7PM with Pastor Freddie Carver officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later time.
