Obituary for Richard E. "Rick" Britton, Sr.
Richard E. "Rick" Britton, Sr., age 64, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born September 21, 1954, in Marietta, son of the late Clarence and Goldie Parsons Britton. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. Rick worked in construction, bridgework, and as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and working on projects around his house. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Britton.
Surviving are his children, Richard Edward Britton, Jr. (Donna Goudy) of Belmont County and Denise Marie Britton (fiance, James Law) of Cambridge; one sister, Donna (Mike) Hupp of Macksburg; his longtime companion and fiance, Joann Burgett of Summerfield; 3 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call Friday, December 21, 2018, from 5-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 7PM with Ken Perkins officiating and a veteran's service will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
